The BRIDGE General Assembly 2025 brought together over 280 participants from across Europe for two dynamic days of discussion, insight, and collaboration around Europe’s energy future. Held in Brussels and online, the event focused on bridging the gap between innovation and market uptake, while addressing challenges in digitalization, regulation, and citizen engagement.
Driving Innovation to Market
From keynote addresses by Vincent Berrutto (DG ENER) and Matthias Langemeyer (CINEA) to practical insights on policy and funding tools, the event underscored the importance of uniting research and implementation. The sessions covered everything from the Clean Energy Technology Observatory to the role of AI in business models and the advancement of energy data spaces.
WeForming's Contribution
Representing WeForming, Konstantinos Kotsalos and Stratis Kanarachos (European Dynamics) shared perspectives during breakout sessions and emphasized the project’s integrative approach. Their reflections aligned with the General Assembly’s theme of turning innovation into actionable outcomes.

“It’s not just about buildings, it’s about orchestrating energy flexibility across the entire ecosystem, while making it understandable and usable for real people.”
Konstantinos Kotsalos, WeForming’s Coordinator
They highlighted the importance of governance structures that align with market needs, and stressed the value of interoperable, user-focused technologies, as a vision of the core of WeForming’s Intelligent Grid-Forming Buildings (iGFBs). Strong cross-sectoral collaboration is a way to continue forward, reinforcing the call for synergy with BRIDGE working groups and fellow projects.
What’s Next?
Key conclusions from the event pointed to:
- The need for stronger collaboration between projects and EU policy developments
