Summary

This report marks the second version exploring the integration of smart grid technologies across the EU, emphasizing public engagement and strategies to educate end-users on intelligent Grid Forming Buildings (iGFBs). It provides deep insights from user surveys to address concerns regarding data security, setup costs, and practical energy efficiency. Furthermore, the document highlights innovative business models – such as One Stop Shop (OSS) and Product as a Service (PaaS) – while defining the updated hierarchical data flows and logical frameworks for the WeForming Reference Architecture.

Summary

This report provides a detailed analysis of the hardware building blocks and technological enablers designed to shift the building energy management paradigm. It focuses extensively on three major components: the Real-Time Controller (RTC), the Power Processing Hub (PPH), and the Carnot Battery (CB) systems. The document details how the RTC handles operational schedules generated by Energy Management Systems, showcases performance results from validation experiments in the Karlsruhe and Luxembourg laboratories, and outlines numerical modeling structures for multi-port power hubs and seasonal bidirectional power-to-heat solutions.
